Interim Feedback. Now Community Housing Aid. The Smart Money skills project has been really successful so far with 118 Smart Money skills sessions being delivered to homeless or people threatened with homelessness in 5 months against a target of 200 in one year. We have also set up a youth version of the Smart Money Skills targeting 1 6-25 yr olds. It will teach them about managing money, bank accounts, avoiding debt and budgeting. It will be promoted through Exeter College, YMCA, Exeter Foyer and Bethany House (supported housing provider).We have recently expanded Smartmove (the rent deposit scheme) into Teignbridge and South Devon and so the Smart Money Skills will be delivered to all referrals to this new Smartmove service.

Give financial capability training to no fewer than 100 people over the course of 12 months, either through direct face to face contact or through delivery of the training, via specialist front line workers, to young adults who are either just returning to work or have found it difficult to settle in employment. The training will cover topics such as budgeting, telling the difference between wants, needs and dreams, resisting hard sales techniques, and managing plastic money. It will be delivered through a fun and interactive half day programme. | ||
